What are the causes of the ball-like movements of the hands?

The rubbing of the hands is one of the clinical manifestations of Parkinson’s syndrome. It is a degenerative disease of the substantia nigra and substantia nigra striata pathways that occurs in adults over middle age. 10% of patients have a family history; some patients can have similar manifestations due to encephalitis, cerebral atherosclerosis, and traumatic brain injury. The cause of Parkinson’s disease is not well understood. It is now recognized that the cause of Parkinson’s disease is degenerative changes of nerve cells, with the main lesions in the substantia nigra and striatum. The gradual decrease in the number of nigrostriatal cells and the gradual loss of their function leads to a decrease in a substance called dopamine, which causes the above symptoms. According to the results of animal experiments and epidemiology, Parkinson’s disease is also related to genetics. 1, ageing: Parkinson’s disease mainly occurs in middle-aged and elderly people, the onset of the disease is rare before the age of 40, suggesting that old age is related to the onset of the disease. Studies have found that since the age of 30, nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons, tyrosine oxidase and dopa decarboxylase activity, and striatal dopamine transmitter levels gradually decrease with age. However, only a few elderly people suffer from this disease, indicating that physiological dopaminergic neuronal metamorphosis is not sufficient to cause the disease, and aging is only a contributing factor to the development of the disease. 2, environmental factors: epidemiological findings found that there are regional differences in the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease, so it is suspected that there may be some toxic substances in the environment that damage the neurons of the brain. 3, genetic susceptibility: In recent years, Al&alpha-53THr mutation of a common nucleotide gene had been found in patients with familial Parkinson’s disease. However, it has not been confirmed many times since. 4, family heredity: medical doctors in long-term practice found that Parkinson’s disease seems to have a tendency to gather in families, families with Parkinson’s disease their relatives have a somewhat higher incidence than the normal population.
