How long does it usually take to recover from vocal cord inflammation?

The recovery time for vocal cord inflammation depends on the patient’s predisposing cause, physical fitness, recovery ability, and how well the patient protects the throat. If a patient speaks for a long time or eats excessively spicy or stimulating food, inflammation of the vocal cords may occur and the main symptom is hoarseness. Such patients usually do not need medication, but pay attention to ensure that the throat rest, try to talk less, drink more water, and take throat-clearing tablets for 3-5 days to recover. If the inflammation of the vocal cords is caused by bacterial or viral infections, medication must be taken. Clinical treatment with antibiotics or antiviral drugs, as well as oral hormone or hormone nebulizer treatment, usually takes about 2 weeks to heal. Patients are advised to use the correct vocal method in daily life, to minimize talking when they have a cold, and when they have voice disorders, not talking and resting more is the best way.
