Prevention 1. Active immunization All children should receive live attenuated polio vaccine orally for active immunization. The basic immunization starts from 2 months after birth, with 3 consecutive doses at an interval of 1 month each time, and a booster at 4 years of age. The inactivated polio vaccine is gradually being used internationally instead of the live oral attenuated polio vaccine for active immunization, and there are trials in China. 2.Passive immunization Children younger than 5 years old and children with congenital immunodeficiency who have not taken the vaccine but are in close contact with the patient should be injected with immunoglobulin at 0.3-0.5ml/Kg once a day for 2 days to prevent the onset or reduce the symptoms.
