Are bladder cysts serious?

A bladder cyst is a benign lesion not a malignant lesion and does not affect a person’s life so it is not a serious lesion. However, if the bladder cyst is large, it may cause a series of pain due to excessive residual urine or local pressure, or symptoms such as frequent urination, dyspareunia and infection. However, this is not a serious symptom and can be completely cured with anti-infection treatment, adequate drainage, or surgical removal, so there is no need to worry too much. In the case of smaller bladder cysts, no treatment is usually required. However, for patients with lower urinary tract obstruction, such as men with prostatic hyperplasia or urethral stricture. Treatment for the cause of the prostate enlargement and urethral stricture is needed, otherwise the cyst in the bladder can gradually grow larger and cause excessive residual urine. In the case of larger cysts, surgery may be considered and a CT scan of the bladder area is required for detailed evaluation and surgical planning.
