The birth control ring (IUD) is a safe and effective contraceptive tool and is the main contraceptive measure for women of childbearing age in China, but some women may not adapt to wearing the ring, which can be judged by clinical symptoms such as abnormal menstruation, infection, and pain. The following events after IUD placement need to be treated promptly to identify the cause, if there is no significant improvement after treatment or the complications are more serious, it indicates that they are not adapted to wearing the IUD and it is recommended to remove it promptly: 1. Bleeding: bleeding more than 100mL within 24 hours after the operation, or bleeding more than 100mL for 7-14 days after the operation; irregular vaginal bleeding with an incidence of 5%-10%, manifested by increased menstrual flow, Pain: pain occurs within 10 days after IUD placement, which is early pain; pain persists for more than 10 days, which is delayed pain, suggesting that the size of IUD does not match the uterine cavity; late pain occurs after 4 weeks of relief of the above two symptoms, which may be caused by infection, IUD degeneration, embedding, etc., and requires timely removal of the IUD; 3. 3.Uterine perforation: acute perforation is mostly caused by careless operation when IUD is placed; chronic perforation is mostly caused by intrauterine IUD pressing on the uterine wall and gradually moving into the myometrium, some patients have no symptoms and can be found under ultrasound during follow-up, in which case the IUD should be removed after conservative treatment; 4.Pelvic infection: it is a serious complication and needs to be removed in time. The diagnostic criteria for acute pelvic infection include four items, of which temperature ≥38℃, lower abdominal pressure and muscle tension are necessary conditions, cervical pain during vaginal examination, unilateral or bilateral adnexal pressure or with masses two conditions can contain one.
