Intermediate and advanced stages of lung cancer refer to stage III and IV lung cancer. Stage III lung cancer generally refers to the presence of mediastinal lymph node metastasis, and stage IV lung cancer refers to the presence of organ metastasis, such as liver metastasis, brain metastasis and bone metastasis. The treatment of middle and late stage lung cancer generally chooses chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapy, and some middle stage patients can be treated by surgery. In the case of small cell lung cancer, surgery is not recommended and chemotherapy and radiotherapy are preferred. If lung adenocarcinoma or squamous lung cancer is in the middle stage and surgery is possible, neoadjuvant chemotherapy is recommended first, followed by surgery. In case of advanced lung cancer, genetic testing is recommended, and if there is a suitable target, targeted therapy is preferred.
