Edema, as the name implies, is when the body stores too much water in its tissues and cannot get rid of it. What tissues can store too much water? Basically, all tissues of the body can store water that causes edema. The most obvious ones can be seen, such as patients with edema of the lower extremities, sepsis, heart failure-induced sinkable edema of the lower extremities, where a pit appears in the skin of the right hand by pressing the extremity, which is called sinkable edema. Other cases of edema that are not visible and obvious, such as edema of the intestines and abdominal organs, the most common cases such as cirrhosis, hypoalbuminemia or obstruction somewhere in the abdominal organs, can cause local tissue edema, which is more difficult to identify and requires a hospital visit for clarification. Depending on the different edema, which is just a symptom, identifying the cause and treating the cause can be the root cause.
