Why the incidence of lung cancer is significantly higher in women

When lung cancer is mentioned, it is almost natural to think that it is the “patent” of men, because many men love to smoke. In fact, not only men can suffer from lung cancer, but also many women. Not long ago, a unit has found two women suffering from lung cancer, one of them has passed away, and the other is still under treatment. Statistics show that the incidence of lung cancer among urban women has increased significantly in recent years. It is easy to understand that male lung cancer is related to smoking, but why is the incidence of female lung cancer significantly increasing? Smoking It is well known that smoking is directly related to lung cancer. Relevant information shows that there are 300 million to 400 million smokers in China. These smokers smoke in almost any place, often in public places such as meeting places, entertainment venues, restaurants and homes, causing many non-smoking women around smokers to inhale the smoke exhaled by others passively for a long time, which induces lung cancer. Secondly, there are about 30 million female smokers in China, and in recent years, the number of female smokers is increasing. Female smokers, mainly white-collar women, they are either due to the need for business contacts, the pursuit of emotional interaction and smoking, or the pursuit of fashion, than the “cool” and smoking, and even a few female students in male students tempted, encouraged to take the road of smokers. Active and passive smoking is an important factor in the development of lung cancer in women. Among female lung cancer patients, in addition to patients with lung squamous carcinoma, which is closely related to smoking, patients with lung adenocarcinoma, which is not so closely related to smoking, also occupy a significant proportion. Cooking fumes In many families in China, cooking and cooking is almost one of the main duties of women in the family. When cooking oil is heated to about 170 degrees Celsius, fumes will appear on the surface of the cooking oil, and a large amount of fumes will be generated when the temperature is 280 degrees Celsius and above. The composition of this fumes is very complex. The composition is very complex, with more than 200 kinds of chemicals, mainly aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, hydrocarbons and fatty acids, etc. In addition, it also contains compounds such as benzpyrene and volatile nitrosamines, which are all known carcinogens. The higher the temperature of the oil, the higher the content of these carcinogenic substances, and the greater the risk of cancer. Frequent inhalation of cooking fumes can also cause a decline in the immune function of the body, and they play a role in contributing to the development of lung cancer. In addition, cooking with gas or liquefied petroleum gas is a natural part of cooking, which also releases a large amount of harmful gases, such as carbon monoxide, when burning. Therefore, the more women cook and fry food, the more they are polluted by kitchen fumes and fuel combustion exhausts, and the greater the risk of lung cancer, which has been shown to increase the risk of lung cancer in women by 17.4%. 3.Harmful gas As people’s income is increasing, it has become more and more fashionable to decorate new houses before moving in, and the trend of decorating is becoming more and more elaborate and luxurious. The common harmful substances in home decoration include formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia emitted from furniture and wall paint, as well as radon, which is a radioactive element in cement, granite and other construction materials. These harmful substances enter the human body through the respiratory tract and skin, which also increase the risk of lung cancer for the mistress of the living room. In addition, high-fat meals, anxiety, depression, tension and other adverse emotional and psychological effects can also contribute to the occurrence of lung cancer. Therefore, prohibiting smoking, controlling the temperature of cooking oil and the number of frying, strengthening exhaust in the kitchen, and ventilating the living room after renovation for a period of time before moving in are all specific measures for women to prevent lung cancer. Regular chest X-ray or radiography is an effective screening method to detect early, asymptomatic lung cancer and should be taken seriously. If middle-aged or elderly women have symptoms such as cough, blood in sputum, chest pain, fever, etc., they need to have chest X-ray to detect and treat lung diseases in time. If a lump is found on the lung, especially if lung cancer is suspected, sputum exfoliation cell examination, chest CT examination, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, radionuclide lung scan, monoclonal antibody examination and percutaneous lung biopsy can be used according to the condition in order to detect lung cancer in time and provide early treatment.
