What is PICC placement?

PICC placement is known as peripheral venous puncture central venous placement, using a catheter to puncture any of the peripheral arm veins, such as the noble vein in the elbow fossa, the median elbow vein or the cephalic vein, etc. The catheter goes directly to the large veins near the heart, such as the superior or inferior vena cava, avoiding direct contact between the drug and the arm vein and thus reducing the stimulation of the drug on the blood vessels. However, with close supervision and skilled and standardized operation, its safety can be ensured.
