A positive fecal occult blood test, also known as a positive fecal occult blood test, is a test that shows a positive result in the stool by means of a fecal occult blood test card, which is used to detect a small amount of blood in the stool that is not visible to the naked eye, meaning that there is a small amount of bleeding in the digestive tract that is difficult to identify with the naked eye, mainly in upper gastrointestinal bleeding, but also in lower gastrointestinal bleeding, or consumption of animal blood food.
Large or acute bleeding in the GI tract is detectable by the naked eye, while chronic or small bleeding is not easily detected.
1. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding, such as gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, biliary bleeding, gastric cancer, hookworm disease, etc.
2. Lower gastrointestinal bleeding, such as ulcerative colitis, intestinal tuberculosis, colon cancer, colon polyps, etc.
3. Consumption of food with animal blood.
So, a positive fecal occult blood mainly means a little blood in the stool, but it does not necessarily mean gastrointestinal bleeding.
