The blind elderly man in his fifties “sugar network” regained his sight

Wu, a 59-year-old woman who lives in Longquan and has a 20-year history of type 2 diabetes, was diagnosed with “bilateral diabetic retinopathy” at a local hospital six years ago. It was only when she could barely see in both eyes that she went to the Hangzhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province Eye Hospital for examination. Recently, under the treatment of Dr. Zheng Bin, deputy chief physician, Mrs. Wu successfully underwent cataract ultrasound emulsification and vitrectomy surgery to preserve her vision to the maximum extent and regain her sight. ”Before I came to the hospital, my eyesight could only vaguely see the outline of five fingers in front of me, but after Dr. Zheng’s surgery, I could immediately see the shuttle traffic downstairs from the sixth floor, I was so happy!” Mrs. Wu talked excitedly with her family. As Mrs. Wu has been diabetic for many years and suffers from severe hypertension and serious eye lesions, many local hospitals were unable to provide her with surgical treatment. In February this year, Mrs. Wu and her family learned that Zhejiang Eye Hospital Hangzhou is a good medical practice, with the psychology of “try” to Hangzhou to see, is already in the advanced stage of diabetic retinopathy, both eyes vision only “light sense”, must be operated to control the disease, save vision. The surgery was necessary to control the disease and save the vision. Immediately after the surgery, Mrs. Wu and her family sent a banner with the words “careful treatment and sight restoration” to Dr. Zheng Bin, the deputy chief physician, as a token of their gratitude. With the increasing prevalence of diabetes in China in recent years, more and more patients are losing their eyesight due to diabetic retinopathy. Most of the diabetic patients come to the clinic because of the rapid loss of vision, but the best treatment time is often missed at this time. Dr. Bin Zheng suggests that diabetic patients should pay attention to diabetic retinopathy while controlling their blood sugar, which has an insidious onset and is almost asymptomatic in the early stages. Early diabetic patients should insist on regular eye examinations, regardless of good or bad vision, and should routinely have fundus examinations at least once a year; patients with retinal examinations that reveal glycoplegia should follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review and timely treatment in order to preserve visual function.
