How long does it take to heal from cyst drainage surgery

Cyst drainage is one of the more common surgical procedures performed in clinical practice. In general, the recovery time after drainage varies depending on the size of the cyst and the effect of drainage. 1. For small superficial cysts, generally speaking, the cyst fluid will be drained clean after 3 days of drainage of the cyst. For large superficial cysts, it takes about 1 week to drain the cyst before it is completely clean. 2. For deep cysts such as abdominal cavity, drainage is often affected by blockage of drainage tube, torsion and cyst separation, generally speaking, cysts within 5 centimeters will drain clean in about 1 week if there is no blockage of drainage tube and no cyst separation. For cysts larger than 5 centimeters, the cysts are often separated and may require multiple drains to drain the cysts cleanly, which usually takes about 2-3 weeks.
