Do leeks cure colds?

Chives cannot treat colds because they mostly refer to the common cold, which is an acute upper respiratory tract infection caused by various viral infections, including rhinovirus, adenovirus, coxsackievirus, respiratory syncytial virus, etc. The common cold itself is self-limiting, which means that it only requires symptomatic treatment and can be cured naturally in about a week. The clinical symptoms caused by cold include fever, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, as well as dizziness, headache and general malaise caused by fever. The drugs used to treat cold are used to improve the above symptoms, such as acetaminophen to relieve fever and sore throat, dextromethorphan to relieve cough, and pseudoephedrine to relieve nasal congestion and runny nose. Leek is just a common vegetable that has neither antiviral effect nor improvement of cold symptoms, so leek cannot be used to treat cold.
