Condyloma acuminatum is a human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and is one of the more common types of classical sexually transmitted diseases. After the diagnosis of condyloma acuminatum is clear (based on typical clinical manifestations and laboratory tests), a white acetate test is performed to further determine the extent of the lesion. The priority is usually given to antiviral ointments. In terms of treatment, the choice of topical medications for condyloma acuminata, such as acyclovir ointment, acyclovir cream, ganciclovir cream or gel, famciclovir gel, imiquimod cream, recombinant human a-2b interferon gel or cream and other agents, and the need to enhance the cleanliness of the external genital area. It is important to note that physical measures are preferred for the treatment of condyloma acuminata, and topical creams including various antiviral creams can only be used as an adjunctive treatment and not as a fundamental treatment. The most common physical treatment for warts is liquid nitrogen freezing, or taking an ion laser to remove as many warts as possible that are visible to the naked eye.
