Chronic bronchitis is a common life disease that affects our health and reduces our quality of life, but where can we prevent it? What are the usual triggers that can trigger its recurrence?
The following are the triggers of chronic bronchitis.
1. Allergens.
Common allergens are the following categories.
Common substances: such as airborne dust, dust, pollen, carpets, animal hair, clothing fibers, even urine, etc.;
Irritants: such as cigarettes, spray;
Food: such as shrimp, crab, dairy foods such as cheese, cheese, milk, etc.
Dust: is a microorganism of small size, mostly clinging to pillows, bed sheets, curtains, carpets and other places. The excretion of dust will produce a sensitive reaction in the bronchial tubes of patients with chronic bronchitis.
2. Infections.
Upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis and colds are common triggers of chronic bronchitis. Most of these diseases are caused by viruses, which damage the mucous membrane of the patient’s respiratory tubes, making the patient’s airways more sensitive to external stimuli.
3. Air pollution:
There are many different types of pollutants in the air. According to the survey, the incidence of chronic bronchitis in developed societies has a rising trend, because the developed countries or regions have developed industries and transportation, so the air quality is mostly poor. For example, the sulphur dioxide emitted by factories may induce chronic bronchitis. The air pollution in Hong Kong is becoming more and more serious, and the air pollution index often hovers at a very high level recently, which undoubtedly has a negative impact on the condition of chronic bronchitis patients.
4. Climate change.
Weather changes are also one of the causes of chronic bronchitis disease. Whenever the seasons change, such as between summer and autumn, or from winter into spring, the change in temperature and humidity in the air will cause a sensitive reaction in the patient’s respiratory ducts, thus triggering chronic bronchitis.
5. Medications.
Some patients with chronic bronchitis have allergic reactions to certain medications, leading to narrowing of the respiratory tract and triggering chronic bronchitis. In addition, some drugs have adverse effects on almost all patients with chronic bronchitis, such as the “beta-blocker” (betablocker) for heart disease and high blood pressure, which can cause chronic bronchitis and may even lead to death.
6, exercise.
Strenuous exercise can sometimes trigger chronic bronchitis, because the body needs a lot of oxygen during exercise, in this case we will mostly breathe through the mouth, because the air inhaled through the mouth does not go through the breathing tube, so it will be colder and drier, which will also contain more particles, so a lot of inhalation will easily cause the disease.
7. Mental and emotional.
Some patients with chronic bronchitis may develop the disease when they are emotionally excited, for example, when laughing or making a fuss, we need to take deep breaths, which may cause narrowing of the breathing tubes and trigger the development of chronic bronchitis.
