The difference between high blood sugar and diabetes

High blood glucose is not the same concept as diabetes, high blood glucose does not necessarily mean that there is diabetes present, but a patient with diabetes must be diagnosed with diabetes because of high blood glucose, because of high blood glucose. There are two types of high blood glucose: the first is higher than normal, but not yet reached the diagnosis of diabetes, such as the emergence of impaired fasting blood glucose, the emergence of glucose tolerance abnormalities, these blood glucose is very high, but are not yet diagnosed as diabetes. The second is when the fasting blood sugar is greater than or equal to 7.1 mmol/L, or the two-hour postprandial blood sugar is greater than or equal to 11.1 mmol/L, before the diagnosis of diabetes is made.
