How to treat posterior uterine cysts

If a woman’s ultrasound examination reveals a cyst in the back of the uterus, the best treatment plan will have to be chosen according to the size of the cyst, as well as the source of the cyst and accompanying symptoms. If the cyst is on the ovary and there is no discomfort, and the cyst is less than 3 cm, then it can be treated without special treatment and the ultrasound will be repeated in six months. If the cyst is found to be in the fallopian tube and is accompanied by persistent lower abdominal pain and blood tests suggesting significant infection, the cyst is often considered to be due to pelvic inflammatory disease, which then requires anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving treatment, usually requiring intravenous antibiotics such as ornidazole injection and pazufloxacin. If abnormal disorganized echogenicity is found in the cyst and it is more than 5 cm, then it is better to consider laparoscopic exploratory treatment.
