In what cases of chronic suppurative otitis media is surgery required?

  Chronic suppurative otitis media requires surgical treatment. Different surgical procedures are available depending on the lesion.  Surgical procedures for otitis media: I. Tympanoplasty Type I: simple tympanoplasty without reconstruction of the auditory chain; Type II: active base plate and presence of supra-stapedial structures; Type III: active base plate and absence of supra-stapedial structures.  Middle ear lesion resection 1. mastoidectomy; 2. mastoidectomy; 3. mastoidectomy with modified radical surgery (Bondy surgery).  Middle ear lesion excision + tympanoplasty 1.Complete mastoidectomy + tympanoplasty; 2.Open mastoidectomy + tympanoplasty; 3.Complete bridge mastoidectomy + tympanoplasty; 4.Upper tympanotomy + tympanoplasty.
