How can sensory ataxic gait be prevented?

Ataxic gait is known as spinal ataxia. It is caused by deep sensory deficits caused by damage to the posterior roots of the spinal cord. Vision can be compensated, so Romberg’s sign is positive and the heel-knee-shin test is unstable, along with impaired position and vibration perception of the lower extremities. It is seen in spinal cord lesions, peripheral nerve mass, and Friedreich’s disorder. How to prevent sensory ataxic gait? 1. Regular infusion is not advocated. There is no evidence that regular annual infusion can prevent the recurrence of cerebral hemorrhage sequelae, so we do not advocate regular infusion. In addition, the treatment should follow the doctor’s prescription and be used under the guidance of the doctor, do not take the initiative, so as not to lead to adverse consequences. 2.Change the bad life style. Quit smoking completely and control the amount of alcohol consumption. Male patients should not drink more than 1 tael per day on average, female patients should not exceed half a tael, of course, it is best not to drink alcohol. 3.Control the weight. Obesity is a risk factor for ataxia, and weight should be controlled through diet (especially high-energy food) and physical exercise. 4, diet and nutrition should be balanced. Eat more vegetables, fruits and cereals, reduce the intake of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol; salt intake should be controlled at less than 6 grams per day. 5, adhere to exercise. Adhere to exercise can reduce the risk of recurrence by 20%, at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day, such as walking, jogging, tai chi, cycling, etc., 5-7 times a week. There is no specific treatment for ataxia, except for general supportive therapy, acupuncture treatment, physical therapy and functional exercise of the limbs, and also various B vitamins, cytarabine, oral lecithin, etc. Patients with advanced disease should pay attention to the prevention of various infections.
