Do earlobe folds always have a disease?

Earlobe folds are not necessarily a disease. Clinically, there are the following possibilities for earlobe folds: 1. Some patients have folds in their earlobes due to ageing and local skin laxity. 2. Some patients also have folds in their earlobes due to recent obesity, resulting in increased fat in the earlobe. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and does not mean that the patient has a disease. 3. Some experts or folk believe that some patients who have heart disease such as coronary heart disease are prone to have the performance of earlobe folds. In this case, we should combine the patient’s medical history such as whether the patient has any heart discomfort, and clinically combine electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound, myocardial enzyme profile, and if necessary coronary angiography, coronary CT and other examinations to determine whether the patient has coronary heart disease. Therefore, earlobe creases do not necessarily mean that there is a disease, so do not worry too much.
