Central large lung cancer surgery-based comprehensive treatment

  Dr. Qiang Yibin, chief surgeon of our thoracic surgery department, successfully performed radical left lung cancer surgery (left pleural total lung resection + lymph node removal) on a patient with left central large lung cancer.  Patient Jia XX, male, 47 years old, hospitalization number: 056816; came to Xi’an from Tongguan County, Shaanxi Province, for medical treatment due to the discovery of left upper lung mass for 1 month, first went to several famous hospitals, all failed to treat because of large tumor, chest wall invasion, no certainty of complete surgical resection, expensive and other reasons. After examining and analyzing the film, the chief physician of thoracic surgery, Dr. Qiang Yibin, was initially identified as left lung cancer, which required surgical treatment and was sure to complete the operation, and was admitted to hospital immediately. The tumor was found to be mainly located in the upper lobe of the left lung, the size of which was about 10×8×7(M), and had invaded the left dirty and wall pleura and chest wall muscle tissue. In order to have a thorough surgery, it was decided to perform a total left pleuropneumonectomy + lymph node removal. After more than 4 hours, the surgery was successfully completed and the patient returned to the ICU ward safely after the surgery. Pathology report: left central lung cancer, grade II-III squamous carcinoma, survived so far.
