Early survival in small cell lung cancer

Small cell lung cancer is a malignant tumor with a very high degree of malignancy, which is characterized by easy recurrence and metastasis. In the process of clinical treatment, it is very sensitive to chemotherapeutic drugs. After chemotherapeutic drug application is given at an early stage, the patient’s symptoms such as cough, sputum or fever can be relieved quickly. The mass in the lung will also be significantly reduced in chest imaging. Small cell lung cancer can be categorized into limited stage and extensive stage. The limited stage, i.e. early stage, usually has a one-year survival rate of 50%, a three-year survival rate of 10%, and a five-year survival rate of about 3%-5%. Extensive stage refers to the advanced stage, where the one-year survival rate is usually 30%, the three-year survival rate is 5%, and the five-year survival rate is greatly reduced to almost zero. The survival rate of patients can also be extended if they are treated with traditional Chinese medicine during chemotherapy and take it orally throughout the treatment period.
