Is acupuncture effective in treating allergic rhinitis?

Chinese medicine has accumulated rich clinical experience in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, with different treatment methods. Acupuncture methods include: auricular acupuncture, acupuncture point dressing, acupuncture point burying, acupuncture point injection, bloodletting therapy, acupuncture, moxibustion, tui na, cupping, etc. All of them have significant curative effects and are safe, less painful and have fewer side effects. In particular, acupuncture and moxibustion therapy are simple, safe and efficacious. In the acute attack period, on the basis of taking small doses or no western medicine, local acupuncture point treatment is the main treatment, together with back acupuncture (or warm acupuncture), and back acupuncture point cupping, generally 3-5 times of treatment can significantly relieve the symptoms. The total effective rate can be more than 80% after treatment by acupuncture method during the seizure period. For patients in remission, it is recommended to take prescriptions that benefit qi and dispel wind, and acupuncture can also be used to regulate. On the one hand, it can reduce the frequency of attacks, and on the other hand, it can also reduce the severity of symptoms at the onset.
