Classification of glioma tumor grade

According to the World Health Organization 2016 classification, gliomas are classified into 4 grades, as follows: 1. Grade I contains several subtypes, such as hairy cell astrocytic glioma, subventricular meningioma, and glioneuronal tumors, which are basically benign, often mostly in young people, and can be controlled after resection, with occasional complications and recurrence; 2. Grade II and above are classified into different types according to different genetic tests, and are controlled for 5-7 years after surgery; 3. Grade III is mesenchymal glioma, which requires a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy; 4. Grade IV is glioblastoma, which is highly malignant and has a survival period of about 2 years.
