How long can you live with advanced kidney cancer?

The survival time of patients with advanced kidney cancer is generally shorter, which is closely related to the treatment method, metastatic site and patient’s physical condition. According to tumor diameter and metastasis, kidney cancer can be divided into stage I, II, III and IV. Early detection and early treatment have more influence on patients’ survival time. Stage I, II and III, i.e. early and middle stages, can be surgically removed and patients have a longer survival time after removal. Stage IV, i.e. late stage, patients with larger tumors and mostly distant organ metastases, have a survival time of about 3 years, generally not more than 5 years. If combined with bioimmunotherapy, targeted drug therapy, etc., the survival time can be prolonged, but if metastases of important organs such as brain, liver or lung occur, the survival time is shorter. Patients with advanced kidney cancer need to strengthen nutrition and maintain good mood to enhance their immunity, while family members need to give patients more companionship and care to prolong their survival time as much as possible.
