What’s wrong with the sore throat?

Sour throat may be related to physiological causes such as eating irritating foods; or pathological causes such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease. 1. Physiological causes: Eating irritating foods such as chili peppers can cause physiological increase in gastric acid secretion, which may lead to acid reflux, resulting in sore throat. 2. Pathological causes: Gastric diseases such as chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer may cause acid reflux due to excessive secretion of gastric acid; gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may cause sore throat due to the reflux of gastric contents containing gastric acid into the esophagus. It is recommended that people with a sore throat go to the hospital to have the cause clarified. If treatment is needed, standardized treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
