Hypersomnia is an aspect of insomnia, which is a subjective experience of decreased sleep quality and duration that interferes with normal social functioning due to difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep. The treatment of insomnia and dreaminess includes two parts: non-pharmacological treatment and pharmacological treatment. 1.Non-pharmacological treatment: correct understanding of insomnia, good sleep habits, psychological counseling to eliminate concerns and fears about insomnia and excessive dreaming, prevention and correction of bad sleep behaviors and concepts. Practices that can be used include choosing a suitable sleeping environment, reducing the time in bed, reducing or eliminating daytime naps, etc. Choosing a suitable pillow and relaxing the body by soaking the feet before bedtime will also play an auxiliary role. In addition, avoid being too full or hungry before bedtime, keep a calm mind and reduce mood swings. 2, medication: If behavioral therapy fails, medication can be used, but note that each drug has its own indications and contraindications, to comply with the principle of individualized and on-demand medication, to low dose, intermittent, short-term drug administration, do not abuse drugs privately. Commonly used drugs are benzodiazepines (diazepam, eszopiclone, etc.) and non-benzodiazepines (such as pyrazolopyrimidines, GABA receptor agonists and their reuptake inhibitors, etc.) and other drugs that help sleep (such as depressants), etc. 3, Chinese medicine to help sleep: Chinese medicine treatment using acupuncture, auricular pressure, acupoint injection, massage, Chinese medicine preparations, oral tablets and other methods of evidence-based treatment to restore the normal “sleep-wake” cycle, the treatment of insomnia has a better effect. Because of its low adverse effects, long-lasting efficacy and no rebound after stopping medication, it also has considerable advantages in insomnia treatment. The effect of medication for insomnia and dreaminess is often limited because it does not solve the root cause. The only way to cure the root cause is to remove the trigger, eliminate the cause and develop good sleep habits.
