What are the non-sunken edema

A form of edema in which the skin has the characteristics of edema, but pressure does not produce a visible depression. It is due to the high protein content of the tissue fluid. It is characterized by edema on the face and lower extremities, often accompanied by pale, dry skin with hair loss. It is mainly seen clinically in patients with hypothyroidism. The most common of these are autoimmune diseases of the thyroid gland, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is often accompanied by an enlarged thyroid gland. As the disease progresses, thyroid cells are gradually destroyed and reduced, and a shrinking fibrous thyroid gland may also develop, eventually leading to hypothyroidism or loss of thyroid function.
