Can a bone marrow transplant cure leukemia?

Bone marrow transplantation does not necessarily cure leukemia. There are many different types of leukemia. Some chronic leukemia patients can be cured by more than 80%-90% without bone marrow transplantation and only through targeted therapy; some leukemia patients need bone marrow transplantation to have a chance of cure. Clinically, not all patients are able to undergo bone marrow transplantation. Patients who are younger than 50 years old, in good health and have a suitable match can undergo bone marrow transplantation, which can achieve the purpose of curing leukemia, but some patients still experience relapse after transplantation, and the success rate of bone marrow transplantation is about 50%-60%.
