Why do babies get Tourette’s Syndrome? Tic disorder, also known as Tourette’s syndrome, is a neuropsychiatric disorder that begins in childhood or adolescence. The cause of tic disorder is not yet fully understood, but current research findings indicate that it may be related to the following factors: 1) genetic factors, previous studies have shown that the disorder has certain family aggregation characteristics; 2) neurobiochemical factors; 3) immunopathological damage, some scholars believe that the disorder is related to group A beta hemolytic streptococci; 4, trace element imbalance, some studies have shown that elevated blood lead levels may be associated with childhood tic disorder; 5, perinatal abnormalities, the effects of maternal psychological stress, smoking, alcohol consumption and disease during pregnancy, as well as fetal asphyxia, amniotic fluid aspiration, premature delivery and overdue delivery at birth, can lead to an increased incidence of childhood tic disorder; 6, psychosomatic factors, psychological stress or deviation from the norm of family education, often trigger or aggravate the onset of tic disorder.
