In advanced stage of pancreatic cancer, abdominal pain as well as back pain are the main symptoms. The abdominal pain is mainly in the upper abdomen, which is deep and accompanied by radiating pain. The radiating pain can be located on the left side of the abdomen and involve the back at the same time, and the pain can be worse at night. It can also be combined with obstructive jaundice, progressive wasting and even fever and secondary diabetes mellitus. Of course, pancreatic cancer that metastasizes to the liver can present with pain in the liver area, and metastasis to the lungs can present with chest pain. Metastasis to the head can lead to headache and even vomiting and epilepsy. If it metastasizes to the vertebrae or spinal bones, back pain and numbness of both lower limbs can occur, and in severe cases, paraplegia, incontinence of bowels and urine can occur.
