Why are condyloma acuminata (CA) prone to recurrence?

The factors that lead to the recurrence of condyloma acuminata (CA) can be summarized as follows: 1, low cellular immune function: so far, many Chinese and foreign scholars believe that the body’s specific immunity to CA is mainly cellular immunity, there is cellular immunity inhibited phenomenon. 2, HPV subclinical infection or latent infection: some scholars with 5% acetic acid coated on the surface of the wart and its surrounding, found CA around the existence of subclinical infection lesions. A study determined that the subclinical lesions of CA existed within 2cm of the wart and confirmed with pathology that the subclinical infection had characteristic pathological changes of CA and the presence of HPV antigens with immunohistochemistry, an important reason for the recurrence of CA. The atypical lesions in the urethra, vagina, and glans are easily ignored, and this subclinical infection status also leads to clinical recurrence.
