Causes of Gallstones

Gallstone disease is the most common disease of the biliary system and includes stones that occur in the bile ducts and gallbladder. The causes of gallstones are very complex and are associated with a variety of factors. It is generally believed that the composition and physicochemical properties of bile are altered, resulting in a supersaturated state of cholesterol in the bile, which easily precipitates and crystallizes to form gallstones. The common risk factors for gallstone disease are female, >40 years old, multiple births, obesity and family history. Environmental factors: mainly in the diet, long-term consumption of high-fat, high-protein, high-calorie food, westernized lifestyle, and not eating breakfast all promote the formation of gallstones. Especially in China’s economically developed cities and the northwest of the gallbladder stone development may be related to diet. 2, their own factors: adult women, obesity, multiple births, sudden weight loss, as well as hyperlipidemia, cirrhosis of the liver and diabetes lead to a significantly higher incidence of gallstone disease. 3, genetic factors: studies have found that the incidence of gallstone in this family line can exceed 50%, which is 4-5 times that of the general population. In daily life, you need to develop good habits and pay attention to prevent the formation of gallstones.
