Pharyngeal cyst symptoms

Small cysts in the pharynx do not show any symptoms in the early stages, and as the cyst increases in size, patients may experience varying degrees of foreign body sensation in the later stages. If the cyst ruptures and causes an infection, the patient will experience pain and severe fever. If the cyst does not cause infection, the cyst in the pharynx is not treated with medication and can only be removed by minimally invasive surgery, after which the oral hygiene is maintained and attention is paid to preventing infection. If infection is caused, antibiotics should be used to control the infection in the early stage, and surgery should be considered after the inflammation is limited, otherwise the surgery can lead to the spread of inflammation and cause infection in the surrounding adjacent tissues.
