Can Diltiazem and Bisoprolol be taken at the same time?

Bisoprolol is not recommended for use in combination with diltiazem, which may result in significant hypotension and atrioventricular blockade. Bisoprolol is a beta1-blocker and is used clinically in the treatment of hypertension and coronary artery disease, and also in the treatment of chronic stable heart failure. The common adverse reactions of this product include dizziness, headache, bradycardia, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. It is contraindicated for those with cardiogenic shock, sick sinus syndrome, severe bronchial asthma, and those who are allergic to this product. Diltiazem belongs to the calcium blocker, mainly used for angina pectoris and mild to moderate hypertension. Adverse effects include nausea, dizziness, rash, fatigue, edema, etc. Diltiazem is contraindicated in patients with sick sinus node syndrome without pacemaker, congestive heart failure, and those who are allergic to the product. The co-administration of Diltiazem with beta-blockers results in increased bioavailability of bisoprolol, therefore, co-administration of Diltiazem with bisoprolol is not recommended as it may cause hypotension and atrioventricular block. Please use the medication as prescribed under the supervision of a physician and do not use the medication blindly on your own.
