How to tell if a lymphoma is an inert lymphoma

The main way to determine if a lymphoma is an inert lymphoma is by the type of lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma can be classified as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, condylomatous cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma and so on.
1. Among them, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, condylomatous lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma are aggressive lymphomas with rapid disease progression.
2. Follicular lymphomas and marginal zone lymphomas, on the other hand, are inert lymphomas and tend to have slow disease progression.
However, it is not accurate to assess the degree of inertia according to the type of lymphoma, because even in inert lymphomas, a small percentage of patients may have aggressive tumor growth.
Therefore, for patients with lymphoma, it is important to determine not only the type, but also the molecular biology and genetic profile of the patient to determine treatment options. Drugs include rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, etc. Treatment needs to be carried out under the supervision of a physician.
