How long does it take to recover from liver cyst surgery

Liver cysts are benign cystic diseases commonly seen in hepatobiliary surgery and require surgical intervention if the patient has significant clinical symptoms or if the cyst is large. The common treatment nowadays is laparoscopic opening and drainage of hepatic cysts, which results in faster recovery after surgery, and patients can usually be discharged in 3-5 days and can return to normal for daily life or work in 1-2 weeks. For patients with liver cysts without obvious clinical symptoms or with relatively small cysts, continued observation is recommended. Surgical intervention is not always needed for such patients to avoid expanding surgical damage, incurring unnecessary costs and increasing patient suffering.
