Procedure and precautions for hysterosalpingography

Hysterosalpingography is used to show the internal morphology of the cervix and uterine cavity and the patency of the fallopian tubes. The standard procedure includes the injection of contrast into the uterine cavity under fluoroscopy and the taking of two radiographs: the filling phase of the uterine cavity and the diffusion phase of the pelvis. Procedure (1) Complete all pre-procedure preparations before imaging. (2) The patient lies on the examination table. (3) The doctor injects the contrast into the uterine cavity. (4) A filling-phase radiograph is taken. (5) The patient waits outside the machine room for about a quarter of an hour after the exposure is completed. (6) A second, diffusion-phase radiograph is taken. (7) The imaging is completed and the report is taken at the prescribed time. Precautions (1) Complete all the required preoperative examinations before imaging and exclude contraindications to imaging. (2) Arrange the examination according to the requirements of sterilization and isolation and in order. (3) Generally choose to perform the examination within 3-7 days after menstruation.
