Does it matter if the cytomegalovirus antibody is positive?

There are two types of cytomegalovirus antibodies, IgG antibodies and IgM antibodies. If cytomegalovirus IgG antibodies are positive, it means that you have been infected with cytomegalovirus in the past, and this does not matter. If cytomegalovirus IgM antibody is positive, it means that you have been infected with cytomegalovirus recently, and you need to treat it in time. 1. Positive cytomegalovirus IgG antibody: this is very common, most adults are usually IgG positive, representing previous infection with cytomegalovirus, i.e. the patient has been infected with cytomegalovirus in the past, but at present as well as cured, this situation does not need to be treated. 2. Positive cytomegalovirus IgM antibody: It means that the patient has been infected with cytomegalovirus recently. It is usually accompanied by clinical manifestations, mainly persistent high fever, accompanied by obvious symptoms of hepatitis, and generalized lymph node enlargement. In this case, cytomegalovirus infection can be diagnosed, and the first choice of antiviral drug is ganciclovir, which can be treated by intravenous ganciclovir, and can generally achieve the ideal therapeutic effect. If it is cytomegalovirus IgG positive, there is no need to be too nervous, but if it is cytomegalovirus IgM positive, it should be treated in time to avoid cytomegalovirus infection causing other diseases. Drugs need to be used under the guidance of a professional physician, and should not be used arbitrarily on their own.
