Giving hope to the less fortunate children

Early in the morning of May 26, 2015, before the clinic started to register, there were already 6 parents with their children waiting for my arrival in front of the PICC care clinic of the Air Force General Hospital. The children were waiting for chemotherapy and there was no intravenous access, so the parents were very anxious. 3 of them were from Tong Ren Yizhuang Hospital, 2 were from Century Temple Hospital and 1 was from Shanxi Institute of Hematology out of town. Parents and children crowded this small consultation room at the same time. They all came to the Air Force General Hospital with their children to have their tubes placed after hearing about the first-class technology and top professional nursing team in the IV catheterization room of the Air Force General Hospital. Each of the parents at the Air Force General Hospital Hematology Research Center, Qiao Aizhen, had the same feeling of anxiety and expectation, as no intravenous access would mean that their child would give up treatment. Through the tacit cooperation of our team, PICC catheters were successfully inserted for these six children. A safe, smooth and green intravenous access was established for the children, providing continuity for the follow-up treatment of the children. It brought hope to these unfortunate children!
