Effects of Meclofenoxate

Meclofenoxate is frequently used in the clinic and is available as oral tablets, intravenous and intramuscular injections. Meclofenoxate acts mainly as a central nervous system stimulant, promotes brain metabolism, scavenges free radicals in the brain, increases cerebral blood flow, and also has an anti-hypoxic effect and improves the patient’s memory capacity, so it is more useful for patients who experience drowsiness, lethargy, coma, and also for patients with impaired consciousness. Meclofenoxate can increase the amount of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the brain, which can enhance brain excitability, thus reducing the incidence of dementia and slowing down aging. However, it should be noted that it should not be used by patients with certain systemic disorders, such as hyperexcitability, extrapyramidal system, and hypertension, as it can easily lead to the manifestation of hyperexcitability.
