I often encounter patients with neurological deafness in the clinic, and their medical history is usually more than half a year. When I ask them why they have delayed for so long before coming to see the doctor, they often say that when they went to see the doctor, the doctor told them that neurological deafness is not treatable, so they did not treat it, but recently they did not want to die before treating it again. On the one hand, I regret that the patient missed the best time for treatment, but on the other hand, I ask myself: Is it true that neurological deafness cannot be treated? According to the medical literature and my own experience, we believe that neurological deafness is difficult to treat, but it does not mean that it cannot be cured, in fact, some of the neurological deafness can be cured. Establishing this concept can avoid the appearance of delayed treatment. In addition, there is a compensatory function of the body after hearing loss, therefore, the result of the auditory examination can only play a reference role, and we cannot conclude that it cannot be treated based on a hearing result. So far, most of the causes of neurological deafness are not clear, so Western medicine is sometimes unable to diagnose and treat the disease. Throughout the treatment of neurological deafness nowadays, Chinese medicine plays an important role, and most of the treatment drugs are herbal or proprietary Chinese medicines, so it is especially important to master the theory of Chinese medicine and the combination of Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of neurological deafness diseases. In general, the treatment of progressive neurodeafness is less effective, while the treatment of sudden neurodeafness is more effective, and in cases where the cause is clear, Western medicine or surgery can be chosen.
