Patients taking nucleoside analogues of antiviral drugs are advised to have their liver function and viral index checked every three months, and to be alert to the occurrence of viral resistance if abnormal liver function is detected. If a patient’s virus reactivates and the viral index rises gradually, he may not necessarily have abnormal liver function or mildly elevated transaminases at first. If liver function is significantly abnormal, liver-protective drugs should be added in a timely manner, and if necessary, intravenous liver-protective drugs should be used to achieve better results.
