The most common cause of either thoracic or lumbar spine pain is a herniated disc or synovial herniation, resulting in painful symptoms due to compression of the nerves. Pain can also occur as a result of contact abnormalities between vertebrae due to osteophytes, soft tissue fibrosis, etc. Therefore, when lumbar spine regression or thoracic spine pain occurs, an X-ray or MRI should be performed promptly to clarify the cause before targeted treatment can be taken.
