Typical days of onset for close contacts of neococcal pneumonia

The incubation period for close contacts of C. neoformans ranges from about 1 to 14 days, with the vast majority of the population developing the disease in about 3 to 7 days.
The currently prevalent strain of C.N.C.P. is the Omicron strain, which is highly contagious, and the incubation period for close contacts is usually around 1~14 days, with the majority of the population developing the disease in around 3~7 days.
After the onset of the disease, the main manifestations are fever, dry cough, fatigue, some people with nasal congestion, sore throat, runny nose, loss of smell and taste, muscle pain, diarrhea and so on.
Asymptomatic infected people can have no obvious symptoms after infection. Mildly infected people mainly show mild fatigue, impaired sense of smell and taste, and low-grade fever. Severe infections present with respiratory distress and hypoxemia about a week after the onset of the disease, and progress rapidly to respiratory distress and septic shock.
