Most mesenchymal tumors are found incidentally during gastroscopy, while some patients come to the clinic with gastrointestinal bleeding. Most gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors are benign, but some can become cancerous. Ultrasound endoscopy can be used to clarify the origin of the mesenchymal tumor and determine whether it has become cancerous. If the risk of cancer is high, resection via gastroscopy or laparoscopy can be considered. If the risk of cancer is low, regular review is also possible.
