The five-year survival rate of some early stage patients with peripheral lung cancer is higher after clear diagnosis and active surgical resection; while the five-year survival rate of inoperable middle and late stage patients is lower. Whether peripheral lung cancer can be cured or not depends on the pathological type of the lung cancer patient, as well as the specific physical condition of the patient, and whether there are distant metastases. If it is detected early and is early stage lung cancer, surgical treatment will be the main treatment, which can be supplemented by radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the later stage, and some patients can achieve the goal of clinical cure. However, if the lung cancer is found in advanced stage, then it can only be treated by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Overall speaking, early stage peripheral lung cancer without distant metastasis after surgical treatment generally has a better prognosis and long survival period. For advanced stage patients, the prognosis is worse. If the patient suffers from peripheral lung cancer, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible to clarify the pathologic type and carry out treatment under the guidance of doctors.
