Which one is more serious, peripheral lung cancer or central lung cancer, is not absolute, but has to be determined according to the staging. 1. Central lung cancer: it refers to lung cancer that occurs in the bronchial tubes at or above the segmental level, with squamous epithelial cell carcinoma and small cell lung cancer being more common. Symptoms appear early and serious, and patients mostly show cough, blood in sputum and shortness of breath. It is relatively difficult to treat. 2. Peripheral lung cancer: refers to lung cancer that occurs below the bronchial tubes, and adenocarcinoma is more common. Patients do not have other obvious symptoms except chest pain and shortness of breath, which are mostly found during routine physical examination or when patients come for consultation due to localized lesion metastasis. It is relatively difficult to get timely diagnosis and treatment, and it is often found to have already entered into the middle or late stage, which is not good to be treated, and the prognosis of the patients is usually poor. It is recommended that people with high-risk factors should undergo a physical examination once a year to detect lesions as early as possible for timely diagnosis and treatment, and should be followed up on a regular basis to monitor the progress of the disease after treatment.
