This is a tissue manifestation of lymphocytic hyperplasia caused by the immune response of the body.
When bacteria, viruses, excessive use of the voice, eating too much spicy food, staying up too late and overworking irritate the throat and cause inflammation, the lymphatic follicles in the throat become congested and swollen, resulting in a foreign body sensation and a tingling sensation in the throat.
If the inflammation is controlled, the lymphatic follicles will become congested and the hypertrophy will moderately improve. Long-term inflammation irritates the pharynx, causing persistent thickening of the lymphatic follicles, manifesting a long-term foreign body sensation in the throat. There is no clinical research evidence to support that removal of lymphatic follicles by laser or cryo-plasma ablation can relieve clinical symptoms, and treatment is primarily etiological.
