Pathological types of primary nephrotic syndrome

There are five main types of primary nephrotic syndrome pathology: microscopic nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, membranoproliferative nephropathy, focal segmental sclerosing nephropathy, and membranoproliferative nephropathy. Among them, the lesions of microscopic nephropathy are mainly in the pedunculocytes, and the name shows that the lesions are smaller and more sensitive to hormones, so the prognosis is better. Membranous nephropathy is mainly seen in middle-aged and elderly patients, and the effect of hormone alone is not good, and it needs to be treated with combination of hormone and immunosuppressant. The prognosis of mild and severe cases is better than that of severe cases. Focal segmental sclerosing nephropathy is mainly seen in middle-aged and elderly patients, and the prognosis is not very good. Membranoproliferative glomerulonephropathy is a disease of the basement membrane and thylakoid region, which is less sensitive to hormones and does not have a good prognosis.
